Steve and Oddny Gumaer
Steve and Oddny Gumaer (pictured above) have been working in war-torn areas of conflict for the past 25 years. Their ministry, known as NOVI Community, has a strong, time-tested capacity to help children living through incredible trauma and turmoil. Steve and Oddny have spent many years in areas throughout Southeast Asia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. In the past year, they have been in Ukraine, distributing food and other basic supplies to families and children. They are also working with trained counselors to help children and families deal with the trauma they are now experiencing in their country.
While war and oppression have devastating consequences on the freedom and well-being of innocent children caught in the crossfire, Steve and Oddny labor tirelessly to bring peace and hope to children caught in war zones. We are currently partnering with Steve and Oddny’s teams as they work around the clock to get basic supplies (food, water, bedding and shelter) to refugee families in Ukraine. Pictured above is Oddny Gumaer with a loving woman in Ukraine who shared vegetables from her garden when they visited her.
